How the tutor treats your questions
The tutor is here to help you learn, and that only works if you feel safe asking anything — even the questions you think are silly. So here is exactly what happens to what you type.
What we save
- The questions you ask and the answers the tutor gives.
- The mode and level you picked, for example Book-Aware and Student.
- If you tap 👍 or 👎, that rating and any reason you choose.
- Plain numbers about each answer, like how long it took and what it cost to make.
What we never save
- Your name, email address or phone number.
- Your IP address, your device or your location.
- Anything that links a question to you, or links your questions from one chat to the next.
If you type something personal into a question by accident — a phone number, an email address, an ID card number — we remove it automatically before anything is saved. Names are harder to catch, so please leave them out.
Why we save it
To make the tutor better for you: to find the questions it answers badly, the parts of the book that confuse people, and what we should write next. When we read saved questions, we see the questions, never who asked them. To us, your activity is only numbers and patterns.
Who can see it
Only the small team that runs The Bridge Balance. It is kept with our database provider, and we never sell it or share it with advertisers.
To write an answer, your question is sent to the AI service that powers the tutor. We ask that service not to keep your question or train on it. In Deep Research, the tutor also sends short search phrases, not your whole message, to a web-search service.
How long we keep it
Until we delete it. If we ever set an automatic time limit, this page will say so.
Your chat on your own device
Your current conversation stays in your browser tab, so a refresh doesn't lose it. Start a new chat, or close the tab, and it's gone from your device.
